• Yuga Labs has announced new details about an upcoming project, prompting members of the BAYC to get ready for a “skill-based minting experience.”

A Unique Storytelling

Back in December 2022, Yuga Labs announced a new project called The Trial of Jimmy the Monkey. The announcement came in the form of a short film that told a whimsical story of a key, a chest, and time-traveling apes.

Run Dookey, Run!

On January 18, Yuga will be launching “Dookey Dash,” a skill-based minting experience that takes place in the sewers of the Bored Ape Yacht Club. In this endless runner-style game, players will need to travel through the sewers, avoid obstacles, and collect fragments. The goal? See how far you can get before the game gets too difficult. So put on your gaming hat and get ready for some fun.

To participate in the experience, users must hold at least one Sewer Pass. The Sewer Pass is an NFT that will be available on January 17, as a free claim for any BAYC or MAYC owner. Only BAYC community members are eligible to claim the Sewer Pass and anyone who obtains it via secondary sale, will be able to take part in the experience.

The Sewer Pass claim and Dookey Dash will both close on February 8.

Players will need to play at least once and score more than 0 to validate a Sewer Pass, said Yuga

In the meantime, participants can play as many times as they want. Once the skill-based minting experience is finished, on February 15, validated Sewer Passes will be able to transform into what Gary the Dog Prophet (a newer character in the BAYC realm) calls a “power source.”

The project is set to be a new chapter in the BAYC universe, and it is sure to be one of the most talked-about projects in the months to come. With its unique concept and inventive storytelling, The Trial of Jimmy the Monkey is sure to be a hit with NFT enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
